St Julian’s Primary School provides education for pupils aged between 3 years and 11 years. It is located in the Beechwood residential area of Newport. There are currently 606 pupils on roll plus 68 part time pupils in the nursery.
The Governors of St Julian's Primary are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and professional Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to support engaging curriculum enrichment activities. This will include learning experiences such as baking and food preparation and other practical learning opportunities in Early Years and the Foundation Phase. You will play an active role in delivering curriculum enrichment, supporting pupils through practical activities that bring learning to life.
The successful candidate will be required to work under the guidance of the Head Teacher/Class Teachers and be committed to helping each child achieve their full potential and be sensitive to their needs.
You will need to have excellent literacy and numeracy skills as well as good communication and interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to the overall care and development of all pupils.
This is a fixed term post to 31 August 2026 with an immediate start. The successful applicant would be required to work from 8.30 a.m. until 3.30 p.m. (term time). Holidays must be taken during school closure periods.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
